The Fokker D.VII is judged the best aeroplane in the entire First World War. It was powered by a 185 hp six-cylinder engine from BMW and was a very manoeuvrable plane. At the end of the war, one of the requirements of the Allied Forces was that all D.VIIs had to be scrapped or returned. Approximately 140 aeroplanes had been shipped to the United States.
