Designed to operate for the smaller and regional airports, the first Fokker aircraft with Jet Engines was presented in 1962: the Fokker F28 “Fellowship”. A successful regional aircraft, providing seating for 65 to 85 passengers, it was used for short and medium- range flights. A total of 241 Fokker F28 aircraft were built. In 1972, the Dutch government purchased an F28 (Aircraft Registration PH-PBX) with a VIP configuration, providing space for 18 passengers. This aircraft was used until 1996, when a new modern Fokker 70 aircraft was purchased.
